John Anthony is an original founding member of Cole’lition.  John Anthony started exploring the bass during his high school years and decided right away the bass was going to be a way of life for him.  He started out playing the four string bass and graduated to the five-string bass.  Recently John Anthony has begun expanding his creativity to more expressive melodic bass solos in addition to his trademark thumping style, thus the purchase of a DingWhall –Afterburner six string.  He has shared is gift of music in live and studio performances over the past 20 yeara.  John has performed with gospel artist Darinda Clark Cole as well as Timothy Wright and saxophonist Marquis Hunt.  John Anthony plans to begin writing material for the next Cole’lition CD.

Personal Notes:

John Anthony was born in Nuremberg Germany.  He was an accomplished high school football player starting on two Washington State championship football teams.  John Anthony was recruited by several major college programs.  He has coached little football for 14 years including one undefeated, unscored-on season as defensive cordinator.  John Anthony is married to his wife Debbie Cole and enjoys spending time with his family and working on his 1988 corvette.
